UM, or Uninsured Motorist, coverage is a type of add-on auto insurance that can cover your medical bills and other expenses in the event you are hit by someone who doesn’t have insurance or doesn’t have enough insurance to cover all of the costs associated with the wreck.

UM coverage can cover costs and expenses such as medical bills, lost wages, and property damage.

Another good thing about UM is that you can make a UM claim even if you are injured in another vehicle that is not owned by you. UM follows you, not your vehicle.

Also, UM can cover things like hit and run accidents and pedestrian accidents.

For both Texas and Oklahoma, UM is not required, but it must be offered by your insurance company and they must get you to sign a form rejecting UM coverage.

To protect your family and friends, I recommend that you carry as much UM coverage as you can afford.

It will provide you with the extra protection you need on the road, and you will be amazed at how cheap UM coverage actually is. That’s why I believe everyone should have it. It doesn’t make any sense not to.

So, if you have any questions concerning UM coverage or a potential claim, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.
